First 48 Hours in Cape Town!

(Saturday)
After a long and very bumpy flight we arrived to beautiful sunshine in Cape Town airport, which was very stylish. We got on a bus and took the scenic route to Table Mountain, where we got a revolving (!) cable car to the top. After a group photo taken by Mr. Hopkins we split up to explore the Table Top, although we got a little distracted by the small furry dassies sunbathing on the rocks. Next we visited Camps Bay for lunch, where the teachers enjoyed some cocktails! Our final stop before the Goedgedacht Trust was Victoria Wharf Mall, where we stocked up on goodies for the week.
It took us a couple of hours to get to the Trust, but when we arrived there we had a lovely warm welcome from Ingrid and co. Immediately thrown in at the deep end, we each partnered up with a Youth in Construction member. We watched a fantastic play about climate change perfomed brilliantly by the Tiener Aksie, youths from 12 to 16. Following this was a delicious dinner of chicken, rice and vegetables and then we went back into the hall for a rave! Everyone exhibited some wonderful dance moves and then together we sang karoke.
(Sunday)
Breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast or fruit salad. After a quick sing-a-long, we hopped on a bus back to Cape Town for a spot of ice skating, where Miss Roberts fell on top of Becky D! After lunch we played arcade games with the Youth in Construction. Tonight we're having a rest before we start the full programme tomorrow. We'll keep you posted!
Alexa Kerr, Beth Thomas and Sophia Kynaston.
